Extension of Bus Transportation Contract
Cook County has proposed a 3.5% increase for 2021/22, or an increase of about $47,600 based on maintaining the same number and types of routes as typical (i.e. not the reduced routes as a result of COVID). These increases are based on their need to increase their pay rates to attract additional drivers and remain competitive, insurance increases, and a need to replace some buses to maintain our required average age of our fleet. After a conversation with Cook County Bus Co., Assistant Superintendent for Business/CSBO, Stacey Mallek expressed her comfort in recommending this extension. The District has been pleased with the services of Cook County during this current contract.
