Captain's Log
PASS CHRISTIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
AHOY, PIRATES!
What a great week! We were once again reminded of how our hard work and commitment to eXcellence paid off with high student performance when Dr. Wright visited our district to deliver our "A" Award. Our community members and Dr. Wright had many great things to say about the Pirates! I have never been more proud to be on this amazing team! Likewise, you should be proud as well. We are steering our students into uncharted waters to prepare them for careers that do not yet exist. Just how do we do that? It is our duty to ensure our Pirate Learners are empowered to be college-career ready, critical thinkers, and contributing citizens. To do that, we must stay the course and hold our students to clearly defined, high expectations and equip them, through our challenging and progressive curriculum, to rise to the occasion. Keep up the great work and enjoy your time with your families; next semester we will finish what we have started. With that, I submit the Captain’s Log! #committedtoeXcellence #eXcellencemarksthespot #finishstrong cje
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thanks Are in Order! Please join me in thanking Ms. Meridith Bang and the entire CSO crew for a job well done in organizing and decorating the gym for the A Celebration. Also, thanks team DES and the elves who helped you prepare for the day. It truly was a team effort!!
Avoiding Pay-Day Blues: Novice teachers, especially, do not catch the ‘Pay-Day Blues’ after Christmas! As our CFO has reminded us, we get paid this Wednesday (10 days sooner than usual), and we do not get paid again until 43 days later. One thing that I still do is set the holiday check aside in a separate bank account to avoid spending it during the holiday shopping season. Then, I will move it back into the regular account on December 31 on our normal pay day. #resisttheurge
Holiday Reminders: Before you leave Wednesday, please shut down all of your computers and close your blinds. Upon return in January, take down and replace all Christmas references to start the new year and semester off fresh. All student work outside the classroom doors and on display should be taken down to make room for Term 3 work. Add student work to your walls as you go through the quarter.
Happy New Year! Return of the Pirates: Teachers return January 3 (Jeans allowed); Students return January 4, 2019 (Work Business Attire)
