Traffic and Being ON TIME
In order to be ON TIME, please consider...
* Dropping your child off between 7:20 and 7:30.
* Taking your child to your scheduled bus stop.
* "Car pooling" whenever possible.
Students arriving to class after 7:45 will be counted as tardy.
Kindergarten students, we are so proud of you! Boys and girls have made a great transition to school and are doing a great job with arrival and walking in on their own.
The best rituals are simple and predictable. They help children develop good habits and become independent.
* Designate a homework spot, like the kitchen table, and make sure it is free of distractions.
* Make an announcement to make a transition... "In five minutes we will begin homework" or "Ten more minutes til time to get ready for bed."
* Have a bedtime routine, at the same time each day.
* The night before, make preparations for the next morning.

Encourage Reading. Experts say that encouraging children to read may be the most important thing parents can do to ensure children's school success. Try to: * Get the whole family involved in reading books aloud to each other. * Be a reading role model - make sure your child sees you reading. * Go to the library often. It's free and it has a better selection than any store. * Read in unusual places - under a tree, in the park, on the porch, upstairs, downstairs. * Keep reading fun, exciting and make sure it's an important part of your family's activities.
