Room 309
A school fund-raiser was sent home on Wednesday of this week. We appreciate your help in this effort. Please encourage students to use safe practices when selling items. Sell to people you know and not strangers.
What did we learn this week?
We've continued to explore narrative writing and have read good examples of it with published pieces. We've examined narrowing down ideas to more specific ones. This week we've continued to read about Earth's Place in the Universe, mainly focusing on rocks.
Our class has revisited our multi-syllable words for Aug./Sept. by answering riddles about them. We've looked at word structure in content area words and thought of other words we know that look or sound like them, and talked about their meanings.
We took our STAR 360 reading and math tests this week for the beginning of the school year data. Students will analyze their progress next week and set goals for themselves. Be looking for your student to bring home a parent information letter (one for math and one for reading) early next week. This information is for you to keep. There is no need to sign the signature portion at the bottom of the page.
On Friday, we learned about the history of the U.S. Constitution and its preamble.
