Friday, February 3rd, the Boys' Varsity Basketball team is hosting a "pink out" game at Grand Blanc High School. In support of this, EMS will participate during the school day on Friday by asking staff & students to wear pink.

Dear Families,

It amazes me that 2022 is in the past and we have already started the second semester! This is a crucial time for our students and an important time for you to continue to be actively involved in your child’s school experience. With all of the activities that occur at the middle school, it is easy for our students to lose their academic focus. I know you join me in supporting our East Middle School students toward the successful completion of all their classwork.

As we push through the cold winter months, the transition to a new semester is a fresh start and a perfect time to help our students refocus. Offer them time and support at home as they work on projects, test preparation, and daily assignments.

I am looking forward to the second half of the school year. I know the best is yet to come! As always, thank you for your support in your child’s educational journey.

Attention 6th and 7th grade parents...

2023-2024 EMS elective request sheets will be handed out in 1st hour on Wednesday, February 1st. They need to be completed and returned to your child's 1st hour teacher by Friday, February 10th.

If you have questions, please contact the EMS counseling office at (810)591-3583.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 28, Wednesday, March 1 and Thursday, March 2. The only conferences held in person will occur on Tuesday. Wednesday & Thursday conferences will take place virtually.

Information regarding our Spring Season will be available at the end of February, so be watching for that if your student-athlete is interested in Track, Baseball, or Softball. Baseball and Softball tryouts are slated to start the week of March 20th. Track will start when we come back from Spring Break. Students must have a physical on file in the East Middle School office dated after April 15th, 2022, as well as a signed copy of the athletic handbook.

The Grand Blanc Band Boosters are kicking off a fundraiser during the months of February and March, collecting gently worn or new shoes in coordination with the fundraising organization Shoes With Heart. The shoes, in turn, are donated to microenterprises in developing nations, where they are either resold or used for their materials and repurposed. There will be a collection box at GBEMS for students and their families to donate.

The Unified Bowling team will be meeting for our monthly bowling league on Tuesday, February 21st at 6pm at Grand Blanc Lanes. Families who would like to have dinner afterwards are encouraged to meet at Burger Bar & Tap immediately after bowling.
