LMS Showcase: Lakeshore Middle Football Program
Laker Nation Football!
Our Laker football program currently consists of a JV and a Varsity team and 58 student athletes. These students started gearing up for football on June 11th just a few days after summer vacation started. They dedicated three days per week to summer workouts/football practice. Coach Tessenair said he did not cut anyone from the team this year due to the commitment and participation of the students in summer workouts. In order for a student to be eligible to play Coach T says, "They are a student first and an athlete second. They have to have academics and good behavior. The coaches support the players but in the end they are accountable for their grades and behavior."
During the game the players wear wristbands that tell them plays and responsibilities. Coach calls a formation and the players look at their wristband to know what to do. Coach T says the program motto is, "Love, trust, & believe...it is a family thing. If you love, trust, and believe the person next to you then you know they are going to do their job and do everything they can to make the program successful. All 11 players on the field have a job to do and they must be unselfish...this is the ultimate team sport." He also tells the players, "A play don't care who makes it, a ball don't care who throws it, and a ball don't care who catches it! Just do your job."
Our Lakers are currently 5 & 1! On October 23rd at 7 PM they played their championship game against Statesville Middle at Lake Norman High School! The team has had an amazing season and we are so proud of their efforts.

The Star of Kazan by Eva Ibbotson
While on holiday, two maids named Sigrid and Ellie discover a baby in a church in the Alps. They bring it back to their home in Vienna, Austria. The maids live with three professors: one a geologist, one an art expert, and one a harpist. They name the baby Annika and teach her how to make herself useful. Annika's friends are Pauline, the agoraphobic bookshop shopkeeper's daughter and Stefan, a budding engineer coming from a large, poor family.
One day, the great-aunt of the rich, rude Egghart family came to stay in their attic bedroom. Annika is offered by Loremaire Egghart to read to her. The great-aunt was an actress called La Rondine (The Sparrow), who swung high above the stages of the world strewing things. When she became broke she asked a Parisian jeweler named Fabrice to sell her jewels. She believed he sold her jewels and copied them, but he actually gave her her jewels back and paid her with money from his own pocket. Her jewels and old costumes were in a trunk which she left to Annika in her will.
Soon, a woman named Frau Edeltraut von Tannenberg came to claim Annika. Annika's birth certificate was backed by a lawyer named Herr Pumpelmann-Schlissinger, who was trusted throughout Austria, Hungary, and Germany. Frau Edeltraut took her to a hotel called Spittal in Bad Haxenfeld, Germany, which was a famous medical spa. There Annika met a budding soldier named Hermann and Zed, a Gypsy boy who cared for Hermann's horse Rocco.
But, Annika is taken away to Grossenfluss, once a castle, now a school to prepare girls of noble birth for serving the Fatherland. The food is disgusting, the discipline is strict, and the headmistress is heartless. Also, the trunk gets stolen! Will Annika escape from Grossenfluss and discover who stole the trunk?

Tim Sweeny is the founder of Fortnite studio, Epic Games. Not all of the people who play Fortnite are addicted, but over half of it's players are hooked!
Fortnite has rose above PUPG (1.5 million) in players. It is "fun" but very very addictive watch the video below and judge for yourself!
(P.S.) I think the creator of Fortnite has the D-Day clock in the palm of his hand.
