Our 3rd Grade Website:
Mr. Miller's class and ours have partnered up to create a website! Your child should have a bright yellow paper coming home with them that has their password to skill practice sites. (I know many are on SumDog often already!)
Our site is www.cres3rdgrade.weebly.com
Here you will find other information/websites that are helpful for the areas you want to work on with your child. They are divided up by subject so feel free to use them as often as you'd like and take time to look at what is on here! I have now added our kidblog link as well!
Let me know of any questions or problems you have when using the website. We are very excited to give students this resource to use as often as they want/need!
Announcements:
Thank you to all who brought items for the food drive! Students brought in 56 items and have earned their goal of extra recess!
A letter was sent home on Thursday about the class choice to raise money to buy a sheep or pig through Heifer International. So far we already have $13.94! You can check out our project on www.heifer.org!
Would you like to share about a tradition that your family has? We would love to hear from you! This could include photos, videos, clothing worn, food samples/photos, instruments/music, and much more! Email me if you would like to share and help us to learn about the diverse classroom we are a part of! Anyone is welcome!

Can do a carwheel?
Math
It has been a busy week stretching our brains to learn fractions and how they work. Check out the photos below for some great pictures of our human fraction activity! We are continuing to work with fractions until Thanksgiving Break, then will take a break to do a short unit on elapsed time in December.
Reading/Writing
We are continuing to focus on nonfiction through Thanksgiving Break. This week we will look at subjects and compare how authors views differ on topics, learning why it is important to use multiple sources.
Students will continue to compare the past and present as they write informational text about a person from Connor Prairie and their role in the 1800's and today is 2014. We hope to have these published by November 25!
Science
Sound and Light: We are learning properties of sound. The end goal will be to create our own musical instruments that demonstrate what we've learned about sound.
