A1 Turtles Update
Week 23 -February 5th
The children are having a blast identifying the clouds while we check the weather each morning. We concluded our topic on 2D and 3D shapes in math, as well as telling time. We will continue to practice their newly learned skills throughout our "time" together. Encourage your children to read the clock for you. We focused on the hour and 1/2 hour. We are now moving towards addition and subtraction of numbers more than 10. Please continue to encourage your kids to practice their math facts and read. They can make flash cards, play games with numbers or enjoy a math app. I have included the link about our current math topic. We all had a great day and week celebrating the 100th day of school. Thank you so much for all of your support in and out of the classroom. Enjoy your weekend :)
Let's tie our shoes!
This week's homework will include math 5.12, and spelling. Please have them bring their blue homework bag with their completed homework on Friday each week. It is very important to help your child learn how to be responsible with their homework and be on time.
This week we will see Valentine boxes or bags. Please have your child decorate a bag or box to hold their Valentine cards for Friday's celebration. Please make sure that the box is no larger than a rectangular Kleenex box. If you use a bag, please keep it smaller than a grocery bag. The kids had a fun time sharing their choice of item for this week. Their day is written on their folder. As I talked about on Back to School night, the kids need to be ready to present on their assigned day. If they are sick, they can present when they return. This is a great opportunity for them to gain confidence speaking in front of their peers.
