This Week's Note From Mr. Evan Chelman, Principal

Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

Well, we were back to normal with a 5-day week! Of course, we're on to a short week before heading into Thanksgiving. Next week, we only have school on Monday and Tuesday. Be sure to see the flyer for the Spirit Days below.

Report Cards will be posted on December 9. Make sure you know how to login to your ASPEN account. If you're unsure, call our front office and Mary Ellen and Kelly will help you out!

I will make sure to send the Howler on Wednesday next week.

Sincerely,

Evan Chelman, Principal

Gratitude Challenge

For the next few months Hill Roberts will be focusing on Gratitude and social awareness as a community. Giving thanks and appreciating what we have helps to foster more social and self awareness. There will be several school based activities and projects for grade levels to participate in, but we wanted to extend the invite to families.

Gratitude is the simplest way to change one’s perspective of the world. Learning to be grateful helps us appreciate the little things in life that we tend to take for granted. This practice can help to bring about a feeling of satisfaction and hope.

Being grateful does not mean that we need to deny the fact that negative things happen in life; but taking time to focus on the good things can help us to find some peace and appreciation amongst the bitterness and hardship we may be enduring.

There are a lot of ways to teach and show gratitude. Attached is a family activity you can participate in. If you would like to share how you are practicing gratitude in your home, please send photos, or thoughts to Jleach@attleboroschools.com

Some Friday Photos!

So many photos from Literacy Night! Mrs. DeGrace's class planted tulips awarded to our PTO which they won in a contest. Our art teacher, Mrs. DeBor, painted Kindness Rocks with Mrs. Camelo's first-graders with the help of our Eagle Scout Derek. Enjoy!
