Austria is located near the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. Austria's government is a Federal Republic.

According to tradition in 1991 following the battle in the third crusade, Duke Hepold V of Austria's white titanic became completely blood splattered. While removing his sash revealed a white line. That's why the flag is red with a white line.
