Notes & Reminders
We had a great time at Walcamp. The activities included teambuilding, archery, canoeing, along with understanding animal environments and the food chain through organized games.
Upcoming, May 24th-Battle of the Ancient Empires-more information to follow.
Remind students to keep up the good work and effort for the remainder of the year as well as charge their chromebook nightly.

Students worked on finding the area of various polygons. Next week, we will continue with finding the area of composite figures.

Unit 4: Imagination
Essential Question: Where can imagination lead?
This next week we end Unit 4: Imagination by reviewing skills, applying comprehension strategies, and word study/grammar skills. The final Unit 4 Summative Assessment will be this coming week. Sixth grade students have just completed their lesson on the Roman Republic. Next we will be learning about Roman expansion and how Rome went from being a republic to an empire.

Science with Mrs. Perry
Students will be wrapping up their study of weather patterns. We will be writing our final scientific argument explaining the increased severity of storms in Galetown in relation to more surface water, increased temperatures, and higher winds.

This week, we studied giraffes in Africa and what was being done to protect their endangerment. We focused on comparing and contrasting by using various articles. Ask your student about their recent Lexile rise - they made some HUGE gains, and I could not be more proud of them. Next week, we are going to read about Europe, specifically The Berlin Wall. We are going to focus on making inferences
