MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS
Pilgrims on the Way of Truth
5th Edition October 14, 2016
The students enjoyed the shortened week and it looks as if we will have wonderful weather again this weekend!
Girls Golf in State Competition!
We were thrilled to send our Girls Golf team off to their State competition in Decatur, IL this week with a first-floor parade! All classes on the first floor line the halls and cheer the team on as they progress from the Chapel to the gym commons, accompanied by the Marian Central pep band playing our school fight song. The team is playing their first round this afternoon - so we are sending them our prayers and best wishes!
Standardized Testing - Wednesday Oct. 19th
On Wednesday, freshmen through juniors will be taking standardized testing. Not only do the students get a great opportunity to practice taking the ACT (freshmen/sophomores) and PSAT (juniors) - but we look forward to knowing just what we need to strengthen in our curriculum to always provide the best possible academic setting for our students.
We ask that all students should bring several #2 pencils (mechanical pencils are not allowed) and calculators. Juniors will need to know their Marian Student ID# for the PSAT test, so encourage them to bring their ID with them that day.
Students should arrive here in plenty of time to check for their room assignments. Posters will be posted in the Gym Commons, outside the cafeteria, and in the Theatre Commons. Students may go directly to their assigned classroom. ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE IN FULL MARIAN UNIFORM. Freshmen and Sophomores will not be able to access the 2nd floor until the Juniors are completed with their PSAT test (around noon.) Durham buses will arrive around 11:55am, and are scheduled to depart around 12:15pm. PACE buses will be on their regular schedule.
Seniors get this day off school for college visits and really see what an active campus looks like (especially during most college mid-terms!)
