Cordelia Hills Update

Weekly Recap

Thanks for another great week. Highlights included our 1st-5th graders starting MAP testing in English Language Arts and Math. Scores are starting to roll in. We use this data to establish a baseline for the year and to set goals with students and classes. Also, our general PTA meeting was well attended. Thank you to our president, executive board, and all of our parents volunteers for making this first meeting.

Traffic Alert

Please avoid using the two courts behind the school (Deer Spring and Evening Shadow) for drop off and pick up. It is difficult to manage traffic and they are public streets so we can't prevent people from using them but are pleading with you to avoid their use. We aim to be good neighbors and to keep our back gate accessible for those that walk to the school. Neighbors report illegal parking, speeding, and trash left outside of cars. Please do your best to avoid these areas. We greatly appreciate it!

School Site Council Results

The Parent Ballot for our 2019-2020 School Site Council is now closed. Thank you for voting. The results are in and our parent reps for this year are:

Andrew Obando (Year 2)

Kamilah Roberson (Year 1)

Aubrey Blanchard (Year 1)

Chemise Cisco (Year 1)

Congratulations and thanks again for all that voted!

Attendance 2019-2020

Attendance was strong last week! Great job to all of our students! Tardies continue to be an area of opportunity. I know it can be difficult in the morning, especially if you have children at other schools. Please attempt to get students here on time and have them remain for the day as much as possible. WE appreciate it!

Our goal for student attendance is 97.5% for the school year with a focus on having strong attendance foundations in TK-1st grade. Check out our daily spreadsheet below. It will be updated each day and you can track where we are. Please make sure to call if your student is absent (or going to be absent) and please contact the main office with AT least two weeks notice if you look to apply for short term independent study.
