Overview
Reading: Our focus was on Text Features for the students. Please continue to reinforce the purpose of timeline, images, and captions at home. Here a few simple and fun ideas:
Make a timeline of your family's life
Have your child add/subtract to determine their age at a certain event.
What decade an event occurred during.
You can add pictures or silly things about your own childhood. Just make it fun!
Science: We are staring the Skeletal System next week. The kids will be making "life size" models of the human body.
Social Studies: We will continue with the Southwest Culture and its history.

Peek at the Week
Science: We will continue to learn about the human body. Specifically the skeletal system in our body.
Digestive Systems: to provide nutrients to our body
Muscular System: to move our body
Circulatory System: moves oxygen filled blood to our body
Skeletal System: helps move, provides support and protection to our body.
Writing: We are working on vivid adjectives in our writing. Here are a few sentences:
basic - The sky is blue today.
vivid - The sky is a pool of cool spring water in an alpine lake.
Reminders:
Please remember to send a note to me via email or call the office if you child is out. I know it is hard to remember, but then we don't have to call. Thank you for the help with this matter.
