The Green Team, PEAS, Denison Student Farm Worker Alliance, The Homestead, Denison Sustainability Fellows, Bon Appetit, The Denison Museum and the Office of Sustainability invite you to participate in our Earth Week Activities April 17 - April 24.

What's on tap for this week:

April 17

Trash Sort and Recycling Tower. If you want to help us sort out recyclables from our campus trash bins sign up here: 8:30am – 12:30pm by the flagpole.

A-Quad Festival. With live music from Osage, informational tables, and a used clothing exchange. 11-30am – 1:30pm by the flag pole.

Tree & Wildflower Walk. Led by Dr. Warren Hauk Associate Professor of Biology. Meet in front of Slayter at 12:00pm

Senior Social Hour. Join our seniors in The Roost starting at 4:30pm.

April 18

Farmer Friday with Stutzmans Grain Farm. Meet the farmer and taste the goodness. 11:30am – 1:30pm in Curtis Dining Hall.

Homestead Open House. Come see the new cabin at the Homestead and enjoy great homemade food and good fellowship. 4:30pm – 7:00pm @ the Denison Homestead.

April 21

Mushroom (edible ones) Growing. Join Bon Appetit’s Sustainability Manager Sarah Piper in starting some homegrown mushrooms. Contact for more details.

Film Screening – Trashed. Watch the award winning documentary featuring Jeremy Irons that sheds light on the problems with our waste stream. 7:00pm in Slayter Auditorium.

April 22

Clean Plate Day. Take what you can eat and eat what you take! An effort to promote our food donation program and raise awareness about food waste. 11:30am – 1:30pm in Huffman Dining Hall.

Earth Day Choir Concert. Featuring the Denison Concert Choir, the Hilltoppers, and Ladies Night Out. 7:00pm in Swasey Chapel.

April 24

Low Carbon Diet Day. All dining facilities on campus will have low carbon options during lunch. Choose wisely!


Sustainability Photo & Video Contest. Take a photo or video of anything relating to sustainability and submit it to the Denison Museum Facebook Page: Voting for the best submissions will occur during the week. Don’t have a Facebook Account? Go to the museum program page:
