WILDCATS ARE #BUCKETFILLERS

WHAT IS T.R.A.C.?

The purpose of the TRAC program is to provide universal social emotional instruction to the entire school population. Students will gain skills to boost their self awareness, increase self esteem and self regulation, improve their social skills, encourage empathy, and learn to seek internal motivation for their personal and academic success.

The goal is to create positive relationships and an atmosphere where each student feels connected, cared about, and physically and emotionally safe.

Check out the short "IN A SNAP" video on T.R.A.C. (see below)

T.R.A.C. @ ME with Ms. G!

Hello to my ME community! I am Ms. Griffin and I LOVE YOUR KIDS! I had an incredible start here last year and I am excited to be back. Emotional literacy is my JAM!

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO:

Just Breathe: The Key to Self-Regulation

We are starting these next ten weeks with Self Awareness and Self-Management skills. So what does that mean? It starts with learning how to breathe deeply.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space.

In that space is our power to choose our response.

In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

Every classroom has a breathing triangle to help students (and teachers) stay regulated

Start With HELLO:

Start With Hello Week brings attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation in our schools and communities, and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school community.

Up Ahead: COMMUNITY & CONNECTION PARTY!!!

SAVE THE DATE: The BIG PICNIC

MIX-IT-UP @ LUNCH is happening @ ME Friday, Oct 4th!!

Mix-It-Up @ Lunch is a campaign developed from a national organization called Teaching Tolerance and it is part of our TRAC initiative in building a positive school culture and community. It is an event in which students "mix-it-up" at lunch, picnic style and sit with someone new, creating opportunities for connection & friendship. Some children are inherently more shy or may struggle to make friends, making lunchtime feel lonely.

***We encourage your child to bring a lunch from home (hot lunch still available) as well as a blanket or towel to sit on for our all-school picnic. Each grade level will have a "color" to wear that day.

***More details to come****
