Smart Tag Used for Dismissal
If you have already registered, please go back into SMART TAG and update your child(ren)'s dismissal default to accurately reflect how you would like your child to go home regularly.
If you need to make a change to the way your child goes home for a specific day, please log in to SMART TAG and submit a temporary change. The cut off time to make changes is 2:00 pm.
All parents, it is very important for your default to be correct as we will be sending students home based on the information in SMART TAG.

Car Rider Tags and Numbers
Many of our Mustangs may only need to use the car tag once or twice during the school year. We recommend that you keep the car tag in your vehicle glove box for those times.
A special thank you to our sponsors, Amber Hart Realtor, Lakeway Orthodontics, and Tomasik Family Dental for providing our car tags.
District shares process for requesting a change in student instructional status
Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the midway point of the first grading period of the 2020-2021 school year, we would like to remind you of the learning options you have available to best support your children.
Specifically, students currently in remote learning at home may switch to in-person learning at school only at the beginning of each grading period. Conversely, a student who is currently at school for in-person learning on campus may revert to remote learning at home at any time.
To prepare for the next grading period which begins Tuesday, October 13, parents are asked to make the appropriate selection using the Instructional Status Change Form posted on our website before Thursday, September 24. If you will not be making a change to your child’s current instructional status, no action is required.
A listing of Frequently Asked Questions and other resources regarding our learning options are available on the School Year 2020-2021: Learning. Transformed section of our website.
As a reminder, this is a constantly evolving process; conditions and plans are subject to change. Thank you for your continued patience, understanding and flexibility.
Sincerely,
Paul Norton
Superintendent of Schools
One School, One Book
This fall, we will build our school community by asking all LWE families to read one book.
Every student at Lakeway (remote learners and face-to-face learners) will receive a copy of the same book. This year, our selection is The One and Only Ivan.
Families are encouraged to read the book together at home to experience the power of shared reading.
The entire school community will enjoy a shared literary experience and become a unified reading community through sharing one book.
Students who participate can earn REWARDS!
This activity is encouraged but not required or graded.

LTISD Protocols for Screening
Screening Questions Has the individual recently begun experiencing any of the following symptoms in a way that is not normal for them?
★ Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
★ Loss of taste or smell
★ Cough
★ Difficulty breathing
★ Shortness of breath
★ Headache
★ Chills
★ Sore throat
★ Shaking or exaggerated shivering
★ Muscle or body aches
★ Diarrhea
★ Fatigue
★ Congestion or runny nose
★ Nausea or vomiting
Has the individual had close contact with an individual who is lab-confirmed with COVID-19?
Self-screening Protocols for Staff and Students
★ Staff will be required to complete a self-screening process, including performing a temperature check, prior to entering any LTISD facility, and the district may require further screening of employees at any time based on current state and federal guidelines.
★ Any employee experiencing any of these symptoms or who had close contact with an individual who is lab-confirmed with COVID-19 must stay home and contact his/her supervisor and Human Resource Services immediately regarding the absence and appropriate next steps.
★ A parent or guardian will be required to screen children for COVID-19 symptoms each day prior to sending them to school. Parents are asked to take their child’s temperature daily. Additional screening may be conducted during the school day as warranted.
★ Any parent dropping off or picking up their child from a school office must also self-screen for symptoms prior to entering any LTISD facility.
★ Parents must ensure they do not send a child to school on campus if the child has COVID-19 symptoms (as listed in this document), is lab-confirmed with COVID-19, or has had close contact with an individual who is lab-confirmed with COVID-19, and instead must participate in remote instruction as student’s health allows until the conditions for re-entry are met.
★ Teachers will monitor students and refer them to the nurse if symptoms are present.

District releases COVID-19 reporting dashboard
In accordance with applicable laws, Lake Travis ISD officials must notify the local health authority and the Texas Education Agency of an individual who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. The purpose of this dashboard is to provide our staff and families with transparent communication. A positive case indicates that a staff member or student who was onsite in a district facility has tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until the school nurse verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by local and state health authorities. Once the individual is cleared to return, their case is removed from the dashboard.
The dashboard is posted on our website and will be updated weekly.
