Important Information....
-We will be celebrating on Monday, December 7: We will be celebrating our December #CelebrateMonday!
Here is how it works:
-Take some time and reflect on the great things happening at Frank.
-Send an email out to the Frank staff describing 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 (or 10) great things happening at Frank.
-End your email with the following: #Celebrate Monday
-I will also come visit each classroom on Monday to recognize the great things happening and to #CelebrateMonday!
What a great way to motivate each other to have a positive Monday while also reminding each other of all of the awesome things taking place in our building!
-The Christmas parties are on December 17 at 2:30. Please ask that the parent volunteers arrive to the building no earlier than 2:15. Please turn in your list of parent volunteers by Monday, December 14. Also, please send home name tags for each party volunteer. Please ask the volunteers to wear the name tags to school the day of the party. This way we will not need everyone to sign-in. If the parent has a nematic on, then we know the parent signed up for the party.
-If anyone is interested in helping out with the Frank Staff "adopting" a Wood County family for the holidays, please let me know as soon as possible.
-At the DLT tonight Joe Sarnes said he needs a committee of teachers K-4 to look at the issue of what to get - Mimio vs Smart software. If you have an interest in serving please let me know. I will then forward your names to Joe Sarnes.
-Please send me a day/time to read to your class at the beginning of the 2nd semester.
-If you have full OTES this year, please sign-up for a day/time for your second round observation.
-Data binders go home on Friday, December 4.
-As students complete their pies on the ALEKS program, please let me know. I will be sure to buy a pie for the students!
-Also, as a reminder, we will not meet for our staff meeting on December 3. This will be your time to meet as a grade level/area to examine the data and determine strengths/areas of improvement. This is a great opportunity to critically examine the data (since it is not tied to teacher evaluation) and be truly honest about our practice and what we can do to make it better. After the December 3 staff meeting time, please remember to send me the answers to the "guiding questions" that your grade level/area answered about the data by the end of the day on December 4.
-We are currently using a lot of paper. Please be cognizant about the amount of paper that is being used. Earlier, I shared that our building budget is lower than where we would like it to be at this point in the year. We are ordering more paper, however, we will not be able to keep replenishing paper at the rate at which we are using it. Thanks for your help and understanding!
-The STAR Testing window is set for November 30 until December 11. Please see the SWARM schedule Mrs. Ghesquire recently sent out.
-Since it is now the middle of the 2nd quarter, please don't forget to use your gold coin and sign up to observe another classroom! This is a great way to share ideas! Please remember: The goal is to go visit 1 other classroom each semester!!!!!!
-Please continue to send good news phone calls down to me. These are a great way to positively connect with the families and the parents love receiving these calls!
-Please continue to fill out and turn in Bucket Fillers. It is very special to have names turned in each day. This is a great way to recognize our outstanding students.
-Please also continue to fill up the Bucket Filling Board in the staff lounge!:)
-Please take a look at the Do Not Photograph list and please make sure to follow that throughout the year.
-Our next Frank Talk will go home on Friday, December 4.
-December 3 and 4: 3rd grade Fall ELA Testing.
-Movie Night will be on Friday, December 4. All staff members are invited to attend.
-There will be strings on Friday, December 4, and Monday, December 7. Strings happens on days 1 and 2.
-The Operation Bread Basket Food Drive will be November 30-December 11.
-The practice for the Christmas program will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 10, in the cafeteria. It would probably be a good idea to have each grade level packed up and ready to go home prior to the program. 5th grade, please plan to eat in your room that day. Also, fifth grade, please plan to have several students stay after the performance to help set-up chairs for the evening performance.
-The holiday concert will also be on Thursday, December 10, from 6:30-8:30 in the evening. Thanks to Mrs. Coulson for all of her efforts with the program.
-There will be a Frank Safety Committee Meeting on Monday, December 7, at 3:30 PM in the large conference room.
-There will be an FPC meeting on Tuesday, December 8, at 6:30 PM in the library. All staff members are invited to attend.
-Tech Tuesday will be on Tuesday, December 8, from 4-5.
-Wednesday, December 9, will be our next full-day IEP/ETR Meeting day. We will have a floating sub available to cover classes that day for teachers attending IEP meetings.
-Donuts for Dads (Last names A-L) will be on Thursday, December 10. Staff members, please remember to help us with parking by parking on the playground that morning. Then please remember to move your car before 11 AM recess begins. Thanks!
-I will be meeting with 3rd grade teachers at 8:15 on December 11 to talk about plans for students in regards to the TGRG.
