Art Journaling

Term 2 2016 ECA

"Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment" (MaryAnn F. Kohl)

Art journaling is play, exploration & experimentation, all wrapped into one. Our little artists will pull together colours, words and images onto pages to create their own unique journal.

During this ECA students will learn to create mixed media by using washi tape, working with different types of paints, drawing letters (lettering), documenting personal memories (scrap booking) and working with stencils and rubber stamping. They will also fill their art journals with photos of their family and friends, and will be encouraged to pen down their thoughts.

Through this fun and creative activity, students will develop their imagination, improve fine motor skills, have an outlet to express themselves non-verbally, discover multiple points of view and benefit from the calming effects of creating art!
