Week of February 6 - 10
Reminders
- Your T-TESS self assessment with evidence should be completed.
- If you have questions or concerns about having enough evidence to support your rating, please schedule a time to visit with your appraiser.
- I will send a form that was designed by Sara Moffett (yay Sara!) to help you organize your information.
- The district has set a date of March 20th (immediately following spring break) to begin our end of year conferences (summatives).
- Twitter Challenge - due to be completed by February 6, and the form should be turned in to Ms. Redd by February 10.
- February 13 - 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Week (more info below)
- February 14 - Valentine's parties. 1:00 p.m. for 5th grade; 2:00 p.m. for all other grade levels
Tutoring
- Please fill in the intervention sheet. Teachers should be tutoring before and/or after school at least 2 days per week. If you are unable to do this, please let me know.
Training for MAP testing - Wednesday, February 15 (after school)
Next Year
Right now, we are scheduled to have 3 teachers at Kinder and 1st and 4 teachers in all of the other grade levels. We have not received our allocations for special ed just yet. At this point, everything else will remain the same.
As we begin to get ready for next year, please let me know your plans/preference(s) for the upcoming school year. The preference form this year is on a Google form. Please click on the link below.
I cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to be exactly where you want to be, because we have to work within the staffing allocations from the district.
I need to have the form filled out by Friday, February 10th.
Random Acts of Kindness Week - February 13 - 17
Random Acts of Kindness week will take place February 13-17. Throughout the week we will encourage students to “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully” by demonstrating acts kindness through their actions, words, and attitudes. There will be several school-wide opportunities to demonstrate kindness towards our peers and community.
Throughout the week:
“Kindness CAN change the world”
Please bring in a canned good to be donated to the Houston Food Bank.
Appreciation Letters: Students will be asked to write “Thank You notes” to a teacher, faculty member, or family member.
Teachers will have stationary available in their classrooms.
Throughout the week, students will be “Throwing kindness around like confetti.”
Students and teachers will place post it notes of kindness and encouragement on the bulletin board.
Monday, February 13
Black Light Puppet Show “Be a Friend” for PRE-K, Kinder and 1st grade.
Grades 2-5 will enjoy an anti bullying/kindness interactive performance through dance and theatre.

Valentines Day Parties
Thursday, February 16
A Random Act of Kindness from Meadow Wood!
Pajama Day for all students. (Please wear appropriate shoes for health fitness)
Friday, February 17
Play with a new friend day.
Examples are: Sit next to someone new at lunch, play a different game than usual at recess, or just be kind to someone sitting alone.
