St Maximilian Kolbe was born in 1894 0n January 8th and died in 1941 August the 14th. He was second of three sons born to a poor catholic family in Russia.
Maximilian Kolbe entered the Franciscan junior seminary in Poland in 1907. Where he excelled in mathematics and physics. He studied philosophy at the Jesuit Gregorian College in Rome from 1912-1915, and theology at the Franciscan collage Serafico in Rome from 1915-1919.
Maximilian returned to Poland on the 29th of July 1919 to teach history in the Krakow Seminary.
Maximilian died to save a man with wife and children.
