Message from the Principal, Mrs. Blevins

On May 17, 2023, the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) collaborated with Woodrow Wilson Middle School to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) month. The morning was filled with exciting performances that represented a multitude of cultures across the globe by professional performers (who generously volunteered their time) from India, Bangladesh, Korea, China, Pakistan, Hawaii, and more!

A special thank you to all of the performers: Gurneet Singh, Minakshi Stalhamer, Sakshi Bhardwaj's Bollywood Dance Team, Rio Kikuchi, Luana Haraguchi, Utako Hariya, Neil Desai, Shahid Saleem Khan. We also want to thank Ms. Cara Stine, Mr. Sal Fossa, and Mr. Mirchandani for helping coordinate the student performances.

Throughout the program, more than 60 students participated in the performances and 1,100 students were able to attend the AAPI assembly. We would like to express our utmost gratitude to Edison resident, Akhila Chetan, Assistant Vice President of NJPAC Community Engagement, Eyesha Marable, and Hitisha Patel, the Officer of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for helping make the event such a great success at Woodrow Wilson Middle School!

With Much Thanks to our PTA and the Soin Family

Our staff was honored to be celebrated by our PTA with a luncheon and the Soin family with a breakfast during Teacher Appreciation Week.

We are lucky to have such supportive parents that make us feel valued and very special. We not only enjoyed both the delicious lunch and breakfast, we loved being able to spend a few moments to chat with our colleagues.

Congratulations to our exceptional winners:

  • Sahil Ghosh (Grade 7)
  • Ariana Ramos (Grade 6)
  • Adithya Kattimani & Gautham Rajesh (Grade 7)
  • Deepesh Chinta (Grade 8)

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the participants for their incredible talents and for sharing them with us. Your dedication and passion were truly inspiring.

We also want to express our gratitude to the talent show committee (Ms. Mechetti, Ms. Pichette, Ms. Chrapuch, Ms. Banach, Ms. Facao, Ms. Patel, and Ms. Lo) for their hard work and dedication in making this event possible. Without their efforts, this showcase of talents wouldn't have been possible.

We cherish this tradition and are grateful for everyone's involvement in making it a success. Let's continue to uphold this tradition, celebrating diversity, fostering creativity, and encouraging self-expression. Stay tuned for more exciting opportunities to showcase your unique talents!

Groups researching pollinators (bees, bats, birds, butterflies, etc.) and then built and presented accurate models of the specific flowers that meet the needs of these pollinators. The result?
