Field Day Shirts...
The majority voted for a class theme, example below.
Each homeroom teacher will be responsible for creating their artwork for the students to trace and then color on their shirt. See example attached. The artwork needs to be on a white paper with a black sharpie/marker so that it will show through under the shirt. We need the artwork by Friday, Feb. 15th. You can turn yours into my box or email it to me!

I am starting my 24th year in Deaf Education, 22 being in Cy-Fair. I grew up in Colorado and moved to Houston 24 years ago. I attended the University of Houston Downtown for my undergrad and the University of Texas Arlington for my graduate degree. I have two daughters-one will be starting her freshman year at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and a sophomore who will be at Langham Creek High School. I love to read, spend time with family/friends, cook, and travel whenever possible.
Deana Detwiler, PPCD Paraprofessional
Hi! This is my 7th year at Matzke as a PPCD Para. I am a Colorado native (born and raised). I have lived in many states in my life thanks to being in the Army and being an adventurous person. I have lived in South Carolina, Virginia, New York, California and Texas for 12 years so far. I have 2 children - Madelynne is 24 years old and Domenick is 15 and going to be a sophomore at Cy-Creek High School. I am also a Nana to Sofia who is 4. I share my home and my life with my boyfriend of 6 years, Juan and my 2 Pomeranians and 2 guinea pigs. I recently received my Associate of Arts Degree from Lonestar and I'm continuing my education by attending WGU for my teaching degree. In my spare time, I love crafting, scrapbooking, boating, camping, fishing, traveling and visiting with family and friends!

Christine Rodriguez, 2nd Math/Sci SEI
(aka “Mal-Rod”) I am entering my 19th year of teaching. I began my career in CFISD teaching ARIP. I then transitioned into a 2nd grade ELAR position for a few years. I taught ELAR 5th grade for 2 years, ELAR 3rd grade for 1 year, then returned to 2nd to teach Math/Science. Aside from loving my educational career, I also teach dance. I have been with the same studio in The Woodlands since college. I love spending time with my supportive and understanding husband, who rarely sees me once August rolls around. I also enjoy catching up with friends and of course my family! Here’s to another great year!
