Cougars Stay Connected!

Hello Robinson Families,

Happy Mother's Day to all of the special moms in our Robinson Family! We appreciate our moms, stepmoms, grandmas, aunts, and all special ladies that are part of the lives of our wonderful Robinson students. What a beautiful day to celebrate all of the wonderful things you do for our children!

As we keep moving through May, we have many busy days ahead! Please continue to do all you can to keep your child engaged in teaching and learning. Our teachers continue to work extra hard with teaching all of our Robinson students whether they are in-person or connecting virtually. A big thank you to our staff and families for finding ways to make it all work!

If you are interested in registering your child for Summer School, please visit the School District of Beloit webpage for information. All registration is available online. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call the Central Enrollment Office at (608) 361-4171 or (608) 361-4023. Robinson Elementary is one of the summer school sites. Please remember that you register for the grade that your child will be entering in the Fall of 2021. Our current 3rd grade students would go to Fruzen Intermediate School for summer school this year.

There are only a few days left to place your order for the delicious Cookie Kits from Frosty's Sweet Creations! Robinson School has partnered with Frosty's Sweet Creations to hold a Cookie Kit Fundraiser. Please consider ordering a 6 count or 12 count cookie kit to support our Robinson Cougar students. The cookie kits include slices of pizza and ice cream cones and must be ordered by May 15th. The pick up days are Monday, May 24th and Tuesday, May 25th. See the links below to help with getting your orders in! Thank you for joining us in a unique fundraiser!

Our May PBIS theme is Teamwork. We are talking with all of our students and staff about the importance of being able to work with others. There will be lessons and activities to help everyone be a better team player! We appreciate your support from home in reminding your child about working with others and being part of a team.

The health and safety of all of our students, staff, and families is very important to us. If you or your child are experiencing symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with COVID, please stay home. It is important that you call into the school office to help with understanding why a student may be absent. If there is anything that you might need, we will do our best to help. Please be sure to complete the Student Health Screener each school day so we can ensure the health and safety of everyone. It is very important that we do all we can to keep our schools open for our students and community.

As a reminder for those students that are coming into school on their assigned Cohort days, please plan to arrive at school beginning at 7:45 AM and before 8:00 AM. We have students enter school through the two doors in the back of school based on their grade level. Our families should enter near the west entry and drive around to the back doors. We have several staff members helping with drop off. Please remain in your car and drop your child off as you near the colored cones. If you need to assist your child with getting out of the car, please park in our main lot, help your child get out, and then walk your child over to the back door area.

Our dismissal time is 3:00 PM. We would like our after school pick up to go smoothly and need your help in doing so. If you are picking up more than one child, please drive in the entry by our main parking lot and wait near the basketball courts to get your children. Staff will be there to assist with the process. If you are picking up one child, please enter in the west lane and proceed to the back of school. We will have staff going to each vehicle to radio for the child. We will also be using the name cards to help with this process. Please do not get out of your vehicle. We are prepared to call for the students as the cars arrive, and want to reduce the number of people congregating in one area for safety purposes. We also ask that our students have their mask on at all times between the vehicle and school.

The 3 most important things to remember when sending your child into school are face masks (at least 1, but we recommend 2), a charged iPad, and a water bottle. Our teachers have organized everything else for each individual student in each of their classrooms. If you prefer to send other items, you can, but it is not necessary. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher for clarification.

Dr. Keyser has been providing weekly updates for all families throughout our planning process. In addition, Robinson School has prepared some information that is specific to our school plans. Please click on the Return to School - Cohort Model link below for more information. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher, Mrs. McCarthy, and/or Mrs. Kaminski if you have any other questions, concerns, and/or suggestions. This upcoming term will be most successful when we all work together.

As always, thank you for your efforts in keeping your child connected to teaching and learning. While we understand it is not always easy, the routine and connection to school is very important. If you are facing any challenges, please reach out to us for support. We know that we will be most successful when we work together for the students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. Kaminski, or your child's teacher to let us know if there is anything we might be able to help your family with during these times. Big picture

Student Access to Teaching and Learning

During this Distance Learning experience, we are working to ensure the safety of each of our students. It is important that each student accesses Seesaw on their school issued device (iPad) for instruction. Each student has a unique email, username, and password. When an unfamiliar email or number attempts to access our learning platforms, we will not accept the attempt to join. Please know that this is done with the intention of maintaining the safety and security of each of our students. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. McCarthy (bmccarthy@sdb.k12.wi.us or (608) 361-2810.

Beloit Proud!

On behalf of the Board of Education and the School District of Beloit we stand against all forms of systemic and institutional racism. Now more than ever it is necessary for our community’s institutions and organizations to commit to be anti-racist. We are proud of the diversity within the School District of Beloit and we acknowledge the challenges and adversity that so many of our families of color are facing. We are always committed to supporting our students, families, and staff. We are here for you and we are stronger together. #BeloitProud
