Week 6 Term 2
In our classroom...
Congratulations to Persia, Finn, Andie, Samuel and Poppy who will present their persuasive speeches and do an impromptu speech next Tuesday in our stage one school Speak Off. I have let the class know how difficult it was for me to choose just four (I ended up with five) students to go through. Every student took on the feedback and made improvements in their presentations. I was really impressed by their maturity and effort in this task.
Mathematics has turned to time! We have made clocks and are looking at o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. The clocks will be used in activities tomorrow and then will come home.
In literacy we have looked at procedures for recipes. Students were asked to focus on making clear steps and using action words. Some wrote a whole menu! Our phoneme of the week this week has been ay, ai, a, a_e!
This week we had a dental talk. Students learned that for healthy teeth, we should brush our teeth twice a day. They were given a little pack and were excited by the egg timer and new toothbrush to try at home.
