Group Buy : Great Lakes Gelatin /Collagen
This weekend we will have our Group Buy for Great Lakes Gelatin /Collagen!
We order these products every 2 months. One can of collagen is a 2 month supply for 1 person. Please keep this in mind when ordering.
The prices include our discounted group buy price, shipping, fees and taxes.
THIS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP THIS TUESDAY.
I will place our group order on Monday and expect it will be available for pick up within 2 weeks. This is a prepaid pre-order, so payment is expected this Tuesday. If you are only ordering Great Lakes products this week, please drop a check in the mail or online payment on the co-op market website.
Great Lakes Gelatin (the Green can) Collagen Hydrolysate (beef kosher) Unflavored
Gelatin (also known as cooked collagen) has wonderful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging qualities, as it helps to fill in the missing amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) in the standard American diet. This is a completely different from the jiggly gelatin product most of us grew up eating as kids.
Homemade bone broth is chock full of gelatin and very nutrient dense but Great Lakes Gelatin- Collagen is a convenient way to get gelatin consistently into your diet.
What is Collagen Hydrolysate?
Hydrolyzed Collagen is the unique combination of amino acids in concentrated levels that promotes rapid re-production of blood cells for healing and conditioning over other proteins especially for bone and joint health care. This low molecular weight protein is easily digested for healthy enrichment in minutes after ingestion. It will not congeal because it has been hydrolyzed for quick assimilation and improved hydration to the connective tissue. Collagen is important to nitrogen balance, now considered an anti-aging product as it supports age related cartilage damage, and collagen loss. source: http://greatlakesgelatin.com/)
How do I use this product?
You can mix it in drinks, shakes, smoothies, or add a tablespoon to your favorite recipe to give it an anti-inflammatory protein boost. It will dissolve in cold liquids very easily.
How Much Do You Need?
Recommended dosage: Take one rounded tablespoon (10-12 g) in the morning, and the same amount before going to bed in the late evening which will help reduce appetite. This product has a low molecular weight so it will dissolve in cold, warm, or hot liquids.
Important Note: Remember not to get too carried away with gelatin. Adding too much too quickly can cause digestive issues: bloating, loss of appetite, stomach ache are just a few side effects.
It’s important to remember that more gelatin is not always better, especially if you are adding it to your diet for the first time.
Gelatin should be used in addition to a nutrient dense diet and not to replace real food like homemade bone broths and grass fed meats.
It is also really important to take this daily. You will see maximum results if you include it in your daily routine.

I have heard dozens of success stories from co-op members and my own family members. Please feel free to email me your personal testimony on your experience with this product!

Pasture Raised Bison
Pasture Raised Alpaca
Pasture Raised Lamb
Group Buy: Carrell Farms (Last Call!)
Carrell Farms is a family owned, grass-based livestock operation featuring 100% grassfed, chemical-free, USDA processed Asian water buffalo. Seasonally they offer 100% grassfed lamb and other species. They are the first alpaca farm in the Southeastern US and offer alpaca shearing and farm consulting services.
New to Alpaca meat? Carrell Farms Grassfed Alpaca is a real treat!
Alpaca is a very mild, sweet meat, similar to pork but without the pig, chop cooks up a very similar in color and texture to pork.
Our alpacas are 100% grassfed and antibiotic free. Grass Fed a species appropriate diet, No Soy, No GMOs. Raised with love and respect, not hormones and antibiotics.
Here is another gentle reminder that ''It is okay to be different''.
Why water buffalo? Well why not? Water Buffalo tastes great! It has an honest red meat flavor with no gaminess. There is no need to marinade or over season our water buffalo as the flavor is grown right in. No need to drain - any excess fat is highly nutritious! Water Buffalo ground is excellent for burgers, chili, meat loaf, sloppy joes, spaghetti sauce, etc.! Be sure to try our famous Buffalo Con Queso recipe ( recipe on Suwanee's website). Children and adults alike really love it!
Omega 3 fats have a much lower melting point than Omega 6 fats. Expect grass fed meats to cook in 1/3 less time than contemporary grainfed meat.
A&A Alta Cucina Products
Her infused Extra Virgin Olive oils are in the Food Oils section, all varieties of balsamic vinegars are in Balsamic Vinegars section, tomato sauces and pestos are in Condiments/Marinades/Sauces section.
I know it's very easy to miss items unless you scroll through the entire market website...

NO, there will be no changes to your membership.
What is the name of the new market location?
Starting in March the location in Suwanee will be Suwanee Whole Life Co-op and our current location in Buford will be named Buford Locally Grown. I’ve been wanting to change our name for some time to represent that we are in Buford to make it easier for folks to locate us.
I want everyone to know that I have no intention of shutting down the Buford location. I will continue to grow and expand both markets!

Fry Farm - Many of you were asking about Fry Farm at last week's market. Here's a note from Vicky on what's going on at the farm right now: "We are doing great. We have been working hard to get things ready for Spring. We have spinach, celery, green onions, kale and carrots growing and should be ready in about 3 or 4 weeks depending on the weather. Everything is growing very slow this time of year.
I'm starting transplants in the greenhouse. The weather this past week makes me want rush outside and start planting but it is still too early for most things. I just planted dill, parsley, cilantro, onions, fava beans and cress. It's always a gamble planting this early.
