Meet the New Principal

“Where Learners are Grown with Pride!”

Dear Little Lancer Families,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as your new Elba elementary principal! This first week here at Elba has been truly amazing, as I have been able to meet several of the dedicated, talented members of your Elba school community. I can’t wait to continue to meet the rest of the Lancer community!

My professional background is rooted in elementary education. As an Oakfield-Alabama graduate, I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Education and Special Education and then received my Master’s degree in Literacy. I went on to pursue an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership at Stony Brook University. I began and ended my teaching career at Oakfield-Alabama, where I taught fourth, fifth, and second grade for nine years. For the past fifteen years, I have been lucky enough to have been the Varsity volleyball coach for Oakfield-Alabama, so many of you may have seen me at games or around the Elba community. I have spent the last seven years working at Genesee Valley BOCES as an Administrative Coordinator of Instructional Services. Most of my work at BOCES was creating and providing professional development to so many educators in our region and supporting districts with school improvement efforts, even supporting teachers here at Elba! I am excited to be able to continue to use my skills and experience to further the goals that are a priority not only at the Elementary School, but the entire district.

My greatest accomplishment is my family. My husband, Craig, and I have two amazing girls, Cali (14) and Adelyn (11). Our family also introduced a new puppy, Oakley, to our family recently! We are residents of Oakfield-Alabama, a small community, just like Elba. As a small town graduate and resident, I love the tight knit community that small towns bring. Our family has so many connections to the Elba community, whether through sports, activities, or friends, I can’t wait to build more relationships with all of you. Just know, as a parent, I always want what is best for my own children and will work tirelessly to ensure your children have the best possible experiences at Elba Elementary.

This summer, I plan to work closely with the amazing staff here to get ready for a great school year! During this time, I will learn more about our school, community, and the unique needs of our students and staff. I am committed to embracing the positive traditions and practices that are already in place at Elba Elementary while working diligently to ensure success for the future. In addition to getting to know our students and staff, I am excited to develop a partnership with you, so together we can help our children excel and provide them with an education that is second to none.

I am honored and humbled to serve as the new principal for Elba Elementary and look forward to meeting everyone. I assure you that my door is always open and I welcome your positive contributions to our learning community, as well as input and support. I hope that our collaboration will foster the absolute best learning experience for your student. I am excited about all we will accomplish together for our children and look forward to celebrating our collective success this school year. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns you may have as the school year progresses. I can be reached at (585) 757-9967 ext. 1601 or by email at

Be on the lookout for a Meet the Principal event, but in the meantime, please enjoy the rest of your summer!

With Lancer Pride,

Jessica Cramer
