Homecoming Float Building
Let’s see your Bulldog Pride this fall! Homecoming week is September 19th-23rd. The theme is "Throwback to the 80's!" Join us at the Transportation Barn, Monday through Thursday, September 19th-22nd, from 5pm-8pm to help build the Sophomore float. If you have questions, contact Ms. Burke at sburke@brownsburg.k12.in.us.
Media Center Hours
The BHS Media Center hours have changed for the 2016-2017 school year. The Media Center will open each morning at 7:00 am. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, the Media Center will close at 3:45 pm. On Wednesday and Friday, the Media Center will close at 3:30 pm. National Honor Society tutors will still be available for academic assistance Monday through Thursday after school in the Media Center.
Academic Assistance
As we start the new school year, we wanted to review your student’s options for academic assistance. The best way to get help in a class is to contact the teacher to set up a time before or after school for assistance. You can find your student’s teacher’s contact information on PowerSchool. There are also National Honor Society tutors Monday through Thursday in the media center after school. If you need additional assistance, please contact Ms. Burke (317) 852-2258 Ext. 1702 or email: sburke@brownsburg.k12.in.us.
Drivers Education and Parking for 2016-17
As many of you found out at registration, as of now, there are no parking passes available for sophomores. We will continue to evaluate the situation with parking passes and if they become available for sophomores we will get that information to you ASAP. We really appreciate your patience and flexibility on this issue.
PSAT Testing & College Go Week
The state of Indiana will pay for all Sophomores and Juniors to take the Practice SAT. We will offer that at BHS during the school day on November 2nd. Your student will receive more details as we approach the exam. There are no make-up tests available, so please avoid routine appointments on this date!
College Go Week is an initiative by the state of Indiana to promote College and Career readiness. Mrs. Frazer will complete activities with your student(s) to help them start thinking about their future plans. Stay tuned for more information!
Student Assistance
I hope your student(s) are having a great start to the school year! But we know that the start of a new year can bring on academic or personal struggles. Please remind your student they are welcome to see any of the team members in the office, we are here to help! Also, if they are concerned about a fellow classmate, they may report that anonymously to anyone on the team. Please encourage them to visit the team 2019 office!
Operational Reminders
Items being dropped off:
We do our best as a team to get items that are dropped off by parents to students as quickly as possible. It would also be helpful if students were alerted by their parents when they have left an item in the office for them to pick up. Thank you!
Sports Physicals:
Physical forms should be turned into the athletic office only. The team office will direct students to the athletic office if they bring them in.
Lanyards:
Hopefully our students are aware that if they borrow a lanyard prior to the 7:50am bell it will not be logged against them. Please mention this to your student, and have them see Mrs. Matherly whenever they forget their lanyard. To replace a lost lanyard would be $5 ($3 for id, $2 for lanyard).
