Hello 1st Grade Friends!
We are in for an exciting week!
Thursday, February 11th is Class Picture Day. Please be sure to sign and return your picture day envelope if you would like to order a class picture.
Friday, February 12th we will celebrate Valentines Day. Due to challenges presented by COVID19, we ask that you please send paper valentines ONLY to be exchanged. This will help us to ensure that we are spreading LOVE and not germs!
Don't forget to sign up for a conference! Conferences will be held via ZOOM next Monday, February 15th. If this date does not work for you, please let me know and we will find another date/time that is convenient. Please use the link below to sign up:
*Please be sure to bring your chromebook, chromebook case, and charger to school EVERY day.
*Don't forget to bring a water bottle daily.
*Remember to bring your green folder to school each day.
*Please wear a cloth face covering and remember to sign attestation forms daily!
"I CAN" Learning Statements for the Week
Phonics: I can decode words with long "E." I can decode words with common vowel teams.
Reading: I can identify the main topic and retell key details of a text.
Math: I can solve addition and subtraction story problems.
Social Studies: I can tell about Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated.
What are you reading about today?
Be sure to make time for reading every day. We will send home a new book with your child every night. Please take time to read this book with your child and ask them questions about the story. Rereading a book is a great way to build reading fluency. You can use the Daily Reading Log below to tell me about it! Happy reading friends!
