Grade 2 Reading and Math News
In reading this week with Mr. Yearick:
Here was one about a baking mishap that we did together as a class (Pie is a recurring theme with this group...):
There once was a boy named Jack,
And he had a friend named Mack.
They liked apple pie,
And they both cried,
When their apple pie turned black.
Next week we'll focus on imagery, adjectives that compare, "oi" and "oy" sounds.
We are equally sharing and then counting and labeling the fraction pieces....
Taking ONE WHOLE and dividing it into fractions....
we've been paper folding, using pattern blocks, and geoboards so far to play and use fractions!
Eighths, fourths, thirds, and more!
We're counting in a new way using numbers LESS than 1.
