Mental Health
Dear Parents,
In this difficult time, we wanted to share with you some important resources with you. It is important for all of us to consider our mental health. The fear and anxiety created by this disease and the stress of changing situations can be very hard on students as well. Many of them are missing out on social interactions that mean a lot to them. Some students are stressing out now about grades and classes. It is important to check in with kids and see where they are and try to find ways to help. As parents and caregivers it is important to also monitor our own feelings so we can keep ourselves healthy as well. Be sure to take care of yourself as well!
The CDC has some great information about how to handle stress and anxiety during this time. It includes some great tips for yourself as well as information about what you can expect from kids and how to help them.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/managing-stress-anxiety.html
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has also compiled some tips for dealing with stress during this time and have included a list of symptoms that can be related to stress. They include some great resources including the National Helpline for treatment referral and the National Suicide Hotline.

This PBS Kids site includes great information on how to talk to kids about the Coronavirus and includes video links to show kids important lessons on cleaning hands and how germs spread. This is geared towards our younger children.
One of the biggest challenges can be keeping kids active and engaged during this time. This list includes tons of ideas for activities to do with your children. This also includes a list of educational websites that have waived their fees at this time.

VIRTUAL SPIRIT WEEK
In order to create a fun and positive at-home learning environment for our students while promoting an ongoing focus on academics during our campus closures, Harmony Public Schools will host a statewide “Virtual Spirit Week” next week on our campus Facebook pages.
LUNCH
Harmony Public Schools is committed to meeting the food and nutritional requirements of every child in our communities while our campus is in closure for the COVID-19 outbreak. From March 16-20, March 23-27, and on Monday, March 30, we will offer free lunch and breakfast pickup options each weekday for any child -- regardless of enrollment status -- in need of a nutritious meal.
Meals will be served drive-up style and will be available for all car passengers under age 18, regardless of enrollment status. The meal pickup locations for our district are listed below and will be available each weekday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can visit the location you live closest to. During this time, children can pick up a sack lunch for the day, as well as a sack breakfast for the following morning. Please note again that children 18 and under must be present to receive meals.
LUNCH IS SERVED ON WEEKDAYS ON THE HSI (ELEMENTARY) SIDE.

Assignment Packets
Dear Students and Parents,
Harmony Public Schools campuses are closed until March 31st. Our goal is to maximize learning during this time and keep our students engaged. Our curriculum directors have prepared two-week self-study modules for our students. The HPS Learning Packets folder is accessible here. Students are asked to complete the work and submit to their teachers when they return to campus.
If you are in need of a copy of the assignments and were not able to stop by on Tuesday, you can pick it up on Friday, March 20th, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
