Math

We are finishing up multiplying and dividing fractions and moving into addition and subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators. For all 4 operations students need to understand how to use both pictorial models and standard algortihm.

Science

We are finishing up our short weather vs. climate and review of the water cycle unit. Since it was a short unit we won't have a CSA, just a short quiz.

ELAR

We are working on our non-fiction unit.

Social Studies

We will be talking about the Civil War.

February 14th: Valentine's Party (Time and Details TBD)

February 17th & 20th: Professional Development for Teachers, No school for students

We will be having a second round of Interim Testing in February. This will be just like what we did last semester, except this time they will take one for science as well. Just like last time, this will do two things for both us and the kids: students get a chance to see the different types of questions they will see on the actual STAAR test later this year, and it will help us to see where they are now that we are just a few months away from the end of the school year.

These dates will be as follows:

February 7th-8th: Reading & Math Interim

February 14th: Science Interim

We have the finalized dates for when we will take our 3 STAAR tests this year. We wanted to go ahead and give you these dates so you are in the know!

Reading STAAR: Tuesday, April 18th

Science STAAR: Wednesday, April 26th

Math STAAR: Tuesday, May 2nd
