Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Getting There

My sister and I are going to Philipsburg, St. Maarten by an airplane. We would be going on an airplane at 7:45am, but we would have to take a stop at Miami at 1:35pm. In Miami we are going to have to wait for 4 hours and 10 minutes, then after all the waiting we would be able to board another plane that will take off at 5:45pm and then land at 9:40pm in Philipsburg, St. Maarten. The whole trip is going to be 10 hours 55 minutes including the 1 stop.
The cost for 2 people for the flight: $1,200.82
I will also need $50 dollars for food and $410-$435 for a car.
Cost all together is: $1,685.82

Where to Stay

When we arrive at Philipsburg, St. Maarten we are going to be staying at a hotel called Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort. This hotel is right next to one of the beaches there, so we would be able to just walk to the beach without taking a car. In the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort there is a casino and spa inside, so we would be able to go to the casino and be able to relax at the spa. At the hotel we are going to be staying in the Ocean View room with a king size bed and sense we are in the Ocean View room we get to see the beach.
Total for my stay: $4,984

Activities

While we are here we would be able to visit the beaches, the zoo, and many more. One beach is the Guana Bay Beach. The Guana Bay Beach is only a few blocks away from the hotel, but the Great Bay is right next to the hotel that we're staying at. Also in Philipsburg, St. Maarten there is a boardwalk. The boardwalk is also a couple of blocks away but closer than the Guana Bay Beach, at the boardwalk we can see the Great Bay and be able to go hang out. There is also a zoo there called the St. Maarten Zoo where we would be able to see what animals there are.

Problems/Solutions

One problem that would happen is that there is some robbery that happens in the Philipsburg, St. Maarten. The robbery usually happens in people's cars, like how in the parking lot people would break into random cars and steal the belongings that they can quickly find and grab and then when they get something they run off. A solution to this problem is that I would only take my phone, camera, and some money with me and never leave valuable stuff in the car.

Another problem that will occur is that we would be having some trouble navigating places. This will happen because my sister and I are only tourist there and we don't know where anything is, like if we would want to go to the boardwalk we wouldn't know where it is located. The way we would be able to search the location of all the activities we are doing is be using a G.P.S or using a map on my phone, or an actual map.

Conclusion/Reflection

I want to go Philipsburg, Sint Maarten because going there would be like a dream come true. I say that because I always wanted to go to an island that is not anywhere near where I live, I would want an adventure somewhere not in the U.S and that has beaches. Philipsburg, St. Maarten would actually be the first island I have ever been to and I would love it because I would be able to check on thing off of my bucket list. The main reason I want to go is that I just want to be able to go to a place that I have never been to and be able to explore more places.
