High School Science Update
Region 7 Educational Service Center
And the Medals Go to...
Welcome back everyone! I hope you had a great summer, because the first day of school is racing our way faster than Katie Ledecky or Michael Phelps. As you are gearing up for this year, I ask that you to set high expectations for yourself and for your students. Post these expectations where you will see them every day and push yourself to accomplish them while challenge your students to accomplish their goals. We all have the potential to be great, but we must first have discipline to persevere to reach our expectations instead of taking the easy way out. Just like the amazing young ladies of the "Final Five" let’s go out and achieve our expectations in every aspect of our competition to educate.
TEKS Streamlining for Science
The streamlining process for the science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) is scheduled to begin this summer. As part of the TEKS streamlining process, the Texas Education Agency on behalf of the State Board of Education will collect information from educators regarding the scope of student expectations for each grade level/course to inform the work of SBOE-appointed streamlining committees. Educators can access the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/sci_teks_streamline. The survey will remain open until September 19, 2016.
