Parent Checklist
- Check CMS email daily: Have students log into their account with you so you know they have access!
- Check the Canvas & Edgenuity Assignment Calendars: Have students show you how they access the assignment calendar. Look at the calendar together so you have a good understanding of what students need to do each day. If they are not sure how to access the calendar, a video with instructions is here.
- Log into courses through my.ncedcloud.org: All courses (except those offered by NCVPS) have a home page in the student's NCEdCloud log in. The home page contains teacher contact info and other important announcements. If students are not able to log into their NCEdCloud accounts, please email Ms. South.
- Set a weekly work schedule: Most courses require about 90 minutes of work each day. If students are off pace or behind, they will need to work longer and on weekends to get caught up. Setting up a daily work schedule helps students stay focused and accountable. If you'd like a worksheet to help with this, click here.
- Set daily completion goals: Having concrete goals for what will be completed each day helps students stay focused and accountable. Students should use the Edgenuity Assignment calendar or Canvas Course Pacing Guides as a guide each day. Students who are struggling to stay on pace should write down their daily goals and use that as a checklist as they complete assignments. Parents should then verify that the work has been completed each day. If you'd like a worksheet to help with this, click here.
Face-to-Face Instruction
If you need face-to-face assistance, you have a couple of options:
- Meet with your teacher on campus
- Set up a video conference with your teacher
- Make an appointment to meet with a teacher off campus
Be sure to check your teacher's office hours on the Canvas landing page for your course!
