LCE News From Mrs.Blaney
March, 2022
Dear Parents,
Our district brought back its District Spelling Bee, and five LCE spellers participated. The third graders got to visit the Lanterman House in La Cañada to learn about La Cañada's history. Other field trips are planned for April and May.
Hopefully, you received my email that Jenny Lee, our office manager, took a new job and will no longer be working at LCE. You'll see a new face in the front office as soon as I find a great replacement.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful and restful Spring Break. May the week off of school give students the chance to recharge and come back in April ready to take on the last weeks of school!
This newsletter shares some events of March and lists some events in April that you can add to your calendars. Remember to check Peachjar for weekly flyers.
Sincerely,
Emily
Thank You to Jenny Lee for 9 Years of Service

Dropping off and Picking Up by Car - Sharing a Concern
You may have read in a recent Outlook article about the La Canada Public Works and Traffic Commission meeting and how the Commission would look into concerns brought up about safety measures related to traffic and crossing guards at LCE. Here is a link to the meeting from March 16, 2022.
Our own neighbors have shared concerns with me about the dangerous driving practices they have witnessed - mainly speeding and running through stop signs. We have many children who walk to and from school, and I implore everyone to slow down and follow all traffic laws to keep our students safe.
