About the Workshop:
eBooks made easy! From kindergarten through college, Book Creator is the ebook creation app anyone can use.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to use this multimedia book-making app with their students to easily create and share their own original books. Using this incredibly flexible app, participants will explore the wide variety of media and tools that can be used across all grade levels and subject areas.
Come see why this ‘Go To’ app is something that students (and teachers) of all ages will love.
* *Participants should come with an iPad and the Book Creator App ($4.99) installed prior to the workshop.

A free version is available, but only allows for one book to be made/saved at a time.
A list of additional apps will be provided to participants prior to the workshop. These apps are optional, but highly recommended.
Outcomes:
As a result of attending, participants will:
- Understand effective ways to use the Book Creator app on the iPad to support 21st Century Skills in K-12 classrooms in any subject area
- Develop strategies for developing your own templates in Book Creator specific to your classroom needs
- Learn how to ‘App Smash’ to import projects from other apps into Book Creator
- Have a comprehensive list of teaching resources to successfully utilize this tool upon returning to the classroom
Schedule:
9:00-9:15 Welcome; Introduction/Resources/Workshop Overview
9:15-12:00 Getting Started with Book Creator
In this hands-on session participants will learn the basic tools of the Book Creator app, including how to create ebooks and comics, make templates, combine projects, save and share books and more!
12:00-12:30 Lunch Break
12:30-2:45 Using Book Creator Across the Curriculum
Participants will spend the afternoon learning how to use Book Creator across the curriculum and how to import projects created in other apps into Book Creator for some ‘App Smashing’ fun.
2:45-3:15 Sharing and Collaboration
Participants will share ideas and projects created in this workshop. Participants will also learn the steps involved in sharing their finished products to the iTunes Store when complete.
3:15-3:30 Wrap-Up; Resources/ Contact Info/ Evaluation/Feedback/ Q&A
About the Presenter
Liz is an experienced educator with over twenty years of teaching experience. She began her career as a Special Educator in Boston, MA where she worked with middle and high school students with behavioral, emotional and learning challenges. Throughout her career Liz has served as a classroom teacher, a Special Educator/ Learning Specialist and computer educator. She has experience working in rural, suburban and inner city schools and has worked with students in grades K-12. She has also worked as a technology trainer for the Nashua School District where she led district wide professional development activities for teachers K-12 and helped teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. Liz is currently a Digital Learning Specialist in Westford, MA where she works in a coaching role with K-2 teachers and students. She holds a M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Emmanuel College and is certified in both Elementary and Special Education.
