Community Partner: Chicago State
The Dr. David Kanis Child Development Center is a new state of the art child development center at Chicago State University. The center is conveniently located in the education building on CSU's beautiful campus. Our team is currently recruiting families for Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Our Early Head Start is a home visiting program where the home visitor brings learning to families' (expectant moms and children from 6 weeks to 3yrs of age) in the comfort of their homes. The Head Start program is center based for children 3 yrs to 5 yrs of age. The center is not open; however, we do anticipate the center's opening in the near future. The programs are curriculum based and family centered (services provided by our family service worker). These comprehensive programs are designed to partner with families in our communities. The services are automatically free for families that receive SNAP or TANF benefits, children with disabilities, children under the guardianship of DCFS, and families that are homeless. Families can contact the center at 773-995-2585 to learn more or to schedule a tour. Families can also complete a recruitment form. The recruitment forms and flyers are located in the main office at St. John de la Salle. We look forward to hearing from the families or friends of families at SJDLS!
