After-School Program has started!
Looking for some extra help from teachers? You are in luck! The official After-School Program will begin on Monday! The program runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2PM - 3PM. This is a great way to stay on top of your work!

The Leadership Academy meeting has been changed to Tuesday, October 2nd, at 2:05 in the Room 226. Any student interested, should attend this informational meeting.

Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 AM - PSAT
This is the practice SAT exam that will be offered to all interested Juniors free of cost. If you are thinking about a 4-year college or university this exam should be on your list. Deadline to sign up was today, September 28. Students who are registered will be doing the pre-administration for the exam next week.

Free and Reduced Lunch Form Reminder
A reminder for students who had a free or reduced status for school breakfast and lunch the previous school year are granted a corresponding temporary status for 30 days beginning with the first day of school. This temporary status will come to an end on October 12, 2018.
Please keep in mind that if you have not already received notification from the Foodservice Department of your new status, a new application for this school year should be submitted by October 12, 2018.
Students who have not submitted a new application by October 12, 2018, will be automatically returned to a full paid status.

A reminder to all students that the add/drop deadline to modify your schedule was today, September 28th. Guidance will be unable to accommodate schedule changes after this date. Thank you!
Seniors who are planning to apply to 4-year colleges and universities should be working on their college applications, completing necessary essays and making sure they have connected with teachers about recommendations. Students should make an appointment with their School Counselor if they have not done so already. Deadlines come up quick and we want to make sure they everyone is on track.
Attention seniors: The next SAT date is November 3rd (registration deadline is October 5th). Keefe Tech's CEEB Code is 220854. Register at http://collegeboard.com.

Representatives from multiple state universities will be at Keefe Tech to talk about their schools and programs and answer your questions.
Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 AM - PSAT

Monday, October 30 from 10:35AM - 11:35AM - Framingham State University Information Session
This session is for seniors who are highly interested in applying to Framingham State this year.
Tuesday, October 31 at 7:30 AM - ASVAB Exam
Any student who is planning to move forward with a career in the military will need to take this exam. If you are thinking about the military as an option you can take the exam at Keefe Tech before making any commitments.

Families of Juniors and Seniors - Financial Aid Night
Thursday, November 8th from 6PM - 8PM.
- The School Counseling Department hosts a financial aid night for students planning to attend a 2 for 4-year college/university when they graduate from Keefe Tech.
- A representative from the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority will present important information
Athletics
Team Updates
The girls varsity volleyball team is coming off a huge win vs. league rival Blackstone Valley Tech. We are presently in first place in the Colonial Athletic small division and look forward to continuing the winning streak. After losing two close games to start the 2018 season, the boys football team came up with a big win this past Friday night beating Madison Park by a score of 32 to 14.
Believe it or not the fall season is winding down and we're starting to gear up for winter sports. Sign up will be happening during lunch in the next couple of weeks so be get ready to join a team! Keefe offers boys and girls basketball teams, wrestling, hockey, and cheerleading this winter season. The first official practice is Monday, November 26, so mark your calendars!
Varsity Girl's Volleyball defeats Valley Tech!
Cross County won their meet on Wednesday 15-50. Congrats to Sam St. George on wining the race!
Student Spotlight
Faculty/Staff Spotlight
Arielys Rosario–Attendance and School Climate/Safety Secretary.
Ms. Rosario is a 2013 graduate of Keefe Tech, from the Business Tech program. Ari graduated from Nichols College in 2017 with a general business degree with a minor in psychology. In college, she worked in the admissions office, and has also worked as a customer care representative at “Long Term Solutions”.
Jeffrey Bruno – Teaching Assistant in Special Education
Mr. Bruno is 2013 graduate of Keefe Technical School and 2017 graduate of Lasell College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History. Mr. Bruno began as a substitute teacher at Keefe on a part-time basis while at Lasell and moved to a full-time position after completing his degree. Mr. Bruno will also be coaching hockey and volleyball this year.
Eric Vasquez – Automotive Teaching Assistant
Mr. Vazquez is a graduate of Keefe Tech from the Automotive Program, and graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Automotive Management. He has been working our Summer Discover Program for the past 4 years. Eric has been working at Firestone and will continue on part time.
