Show Me What You Know!
- Screencasting on the iPad is a new iOS 11 feature that allows students to walk you through their learning process without having to launch an additional app.
- Explain Everything is a powerful tool that literally lets a student explain just about anything from a simple problem to a complex process.
- Stop Motion allows students to demonstrate their learning step-by-step. They can walk through a math problem or a novel's story line or a timeline.
Have your students submit their work through Google Drive or Showbie and enjoy experiencing what your students have learned!
iMovie Made Easy
iMovie is a powerful application. Launch the app for the first time and it can look intimidating. Before trying to dive in the deep end, try a trailer! iMovie trailers offer a variety of preformatted templates complete with backgrounds and music.
Using a trailer can help students focus on the content rather than the formatting. Thankfully, others walked this path before us and created some very helpful resources. Learning in Hand has storyboards for every type of iMovie trailer available for iPad and Mac. These storyboards map out where the text needs to be and where the photos and videos need to be placed.
A Trailer Planner is attached here and the trailer storyboards are located in our Digital Teaching and Learning Google Drive folder. How do you use these?
- Download the Trailer Planner and Storyboards.
- Share the Trailer Planner and Storyboards with your class.
- Have students use the Trailer Planner to brainstorm, plan their creation, and choose the type of trailer that works best for their project.
- Ask students to download their chosen trailer type to Notability.
- Ask students to complete the storyboard before working on the trailer itself. They can use text and images in their storyboard. This will help them focus on the content and ensure they have the necessary elements.
When finished, students will have a professional looking movie trailer that's fun to watch!
Which Digital Tools are You Using?
Partner with us and help us ensure your tools for classes, teams, clubs and activities are approved and ready for to use when you need them. PLAN AHEAD. Visit Pine Creek's Resource List; it includes the resources submitted by you. Don't see the one you'd like to use? Visit the District database. Still don't see your resource? Fill out the Digital Tool Application and we'll get it submitted to District IT for approval. Once the tool is approved, we'll update our list and inform you. This process takes time, especially if a purchase needs to be made.
Please be patient with us and the District as we embark on this new process. The District database is continually being updated as is our own resource list. Our goal is to ensure you have the resources you need while protecting our students' privacy.
Have questions? Contact anyone of your Digital Resource Team members, Susan, Sasha or Steve.
