Big picture

Welcome to the Crew!

We are excited to welcome our new Crew to the Buckhorn Creek Elementary Community!

Ms. Jasmin Rebuck - 2nd Grade

Miss Jasmine Rebuck is excited to join the second-grade team at BCES! She is originally from York, Pennsylvania and graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Ms. Rebuck spent the past five years teaching second grade in Northern Virginia and has also taught preschool for half a school year. In May 2023, she will graduate with her master's degree in Trauma and Resilience in Educational Environments. Ms. Rebuck enjoys running, hiking, playing/watching basketball and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys spending lots of time with her brother's four-year-old German Shepard named Storm!

Ms. Elaina Reason - 2nd Grade

Ms. Eliana Reason is happy to be joining the second grade team at Buckhorn Creek Elementary! She graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor in Elementary Education and earned her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of New Brunswick. This year will mark her 7th year in teaching. Prior to Buckhorn Creek, she taught 3rd grade at Hortons Creek for two years. Ms. Reason is from Toronto, Canada. She and her family moved to North Carolina two years ago. When not at school, Ms. Reason enjoys traveling, crocheting, hiking and working out. She looks forward to making this an amazing year for you and your child!

Stock the House!

We are excited to expand our global connections once again this coming school year as we welcome two new teachers to our Crew from the UK. Mr. Jack Mutton will join our 2nd Grade team and Ms. Selena Wakefield will be joining our 3rd Grade team. We are expecting them both to arrive at the end of July.

As they begin planning their moves, we are looking for ways to help them get established. Like our other teachers from abroad, they will arrive with just 2 simple suitcases. Thus, we want to provide as much support as possible. If you happen to have an extra set of pots and pans, dishes, silverware, or any other kitchen items in your house that you no longer need, please drop it off to the Buckhorn Creek office. We will also be looking for any living room furniture, dressers, etc.

We have some items from left from past teachers that have moved back to the UK, but not nearly enough to stock two apartments.

Please follow this link to list the item you are able to donate (this will help ensure we don't end up with 50 of the same thing).

Thank you all in advance for your support!

However, we know this may not be possible due to family schedules and you are welcome to come at another time if this is the case. However, we ask that you do try your best to come during your assigned time.
