Our Mission

“Everton Elementary School, with the support of a community that values education, effectively utilizes all resources to insure a safe, harmonious atmosphere where all students learn essential skills, are challenged to reach their potential, and are motivated to become creative, lifelong learners and healthy, responsible citizens.”

A Strong Finish, Even If It Isn't at School!

No, this isn't how we thought the school year would end. However, I am still amazed at the learning that kept taking place and the effort made by our students, parents, and staff. With the requirements set forth by our governor and the Indiana Department of Education, May 21, 2020 is the last student day of the year. At Everton, it has been our tradition to also end the year by recognizing students during an awards program. I will continue to recognize our students further on in the newsletter. I am very proud of our students!

Remote Learning

It's interesting how students and teachers being separated has brought them to knowing each other more! Mrs. Rose, one our first grade teachers, shared her weekly newsletter with me with pictures of students learning at home. I have included some of those pictures. This is just one sample from one classroom.

Recognizing Our Students

Each year the Fayette County School Corporation Board of School Trustees recognizes students in grades 4-6 for their achievement in academics. To receive the recognition a student must have a 3.7 grade point average during the first three quarters of the school year. Following is the list of students from Everton who met the requirement:

Grade 4

  • Zoey C.
  • Zachary E.
  • Grayson G.
  • Gunner G.
  • Adrianna M.
  • Ava M.
  • Jay M.
  • Mackenzie M.
  • Bristol R.
  • Brynn S.
  • Abigail T.
  • Logan W.
  • Elijah W.

Grade 5

  • McKenzie L.
  • Taylynn S.

Grade 6

  • Robert C.
  • Mason C.
  • Canden G.
  • Maddie H.
  • Hayden S.
  • Madyison W.

Turning in iPads

Ipads that have been checked out must be returned to school from 8:00-4:00 on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Report Cards

Report cards may be picked up from school on Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 8:00-4:00. Grades for fourth quarter were completed by using third quarter grades as the base line. This allowed students' fourth quarter grades to not be harmed by remote learning. In other words, each student will not receive a grade any lower than their third quarter grades for each subject.

Something Special for our Sixth Graders

A "Side walk Celebration" is in store for our sixth graders on Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 4:00-6:00. At that time many of our staff will be socially distanced around the front drive of the school. We ask that parents bring your sixth grader and their material to return to school at that time. Without leaving your car, your sixth grader may return their iPad and pick up report cards, and other items. It gives your sixth grader the chance to be recognized one last time, without hugs, high fives and hand shakes, by the staff at Everton!
