6TH GRADE INFORMATION
Cooper Comets 6th Grade Families,
Thank you to all of the 6th grade parents that have volunteered to assist with our Promotion and Picnic activities. Here is an outline of the activities for the last week of school.
Tuesday, June 1st (ALL 6th grade students will attend AM classes to participate in practice)
Promotion Practice
9:00 (Atherton/McGee),
10:00 (Ariola/Curtis)
6th Grade Softball game
9:00 (Ariola/Curtis)
10:00 (Atherton/McGee)
Wednesday, June 2nd Promotion Ceremony
3:30 (Atherton/McGee)
5:30 (Ariola/Curtis)
**2 guests per student**
**Please bring your own lawn chairs**
**Masks are required***
Arrive by 3:00 PM (Atherton/McGee) or 5:00 (Ariola/Curtis) on the day of promotion. 6th grade students will check in with their teacher in the classroom.
Guests: Guests will check in at the double gates on Christine Drive gate. All guests must be pre-registered on each 6th grade student's RSVP Google form. Guests not on the list will not be permitted on campus. All guests must wear face masks while on campus.
Guest seating: All family pod seating areas will be designated by cones to ensure 6 foot distancing from other families. Each family pod will choose an open cone area to set up their chairs after checking in at the gate. Each guest will need to bring their own chair.
Face masks are required by all students, guests and staff while on campus.
Pictures: We will have an opportunity for guests to take pictures after the ceremony.

9:00 - 11:00 ALL 6th grade students are invited to the picnic hosted by PTO

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if we move into the Yellow tier prior to promotion ceremony?
- All 6th grade students will be allowed two additional guests if we move into the yellow tier.
Do guests have to bring their own chairs as they have done in the past?
- Yes, all guests will need to bring their own chair. We only have enough chairs for the promoting 6th grade students. Sorry for the inconvenience
Do children count as guests?
- Children over 2 years old count as guests and will need to be added to the RSVP form.
Do guests from the same household have to sit 6 feet apart?
- No, guests from the same household can sit together.
Can I have out of town guests at the ceremony?
- California Department Public Health guidelines currently require that access to the ceremonies be limited to individuals currently residing in California. Those planning to attend should stay informed about the CDPH’s most recent travel advisory. We are in communication with Solano Public Health to ensure we have the latest information regarding out-of-state residents to attend the ceremonies. We will advise you of any new developments as soon as we have them.
What if I can't attend in person?
- Promotion certificates and any awards given will be available for pickup in the MP Room on Thursday, June 3rd.
Will my name be read if I can't attend promotion ceremony?
- Yes, names of all promoting 6th graders will be announced.
