I am a REBEL
Hello Rebels, I am Wanda Johnson and I am going to serve as your principal. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC, and my Master’s degree here at the University of Texas at El Paso. I have worked in EPISD for 24 years and this is my 11th year as a campus principal.
I will be sending this monthly newsletter at the beginning of each month. We also have a Facebook page to use as a resource.
I am Assistant Principal Michael Coppock. I am beginning my twenty first year working for EPISD. I spent my first ten years as an ELAR teacher at Lafarelle Alternative MS and Canyon Hills MS. The last ten plus years I have been an administrator at Guillen MS, Morehead MS, Canyon Hills MS and now, Ross MS. I try to instill campus values of being ready, being respectful, and being responsible. I also place a priority on safety. Every student, parent, community member, and campus faculty/staff member should be welcomed and be safe.
During my "free time" I enjoy traveling all over the world. I try to visit Europe every other year with plans to visit Scotland to play golf at St. Andrews (birthplace of golf). Over the last few years, I have been traveling to National Parks and Monuments to see what America has to offer. My eventual goal is to visit all 50 states, all 30 MLB baseball stadiums, all or at least most National Parks, and travel coast to coast on a train. I have thoroughly enjoyed my life up until now and will continue to do so with family and great friends.
Rebels!!! My name is Stacey Salguero. This is my 19th year as an educator and my 11th year as an assistant principal. All 11 of those years have been served as a proud Ross Rebel. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UTEP.
I love working with Middle School students and hope to make a difference!
In my spare time, I like to read, solve puzzles and spend time with family. I’m looking forward to a great year.

Students who bring electronic devices must store them in their backpacks, in the off position, during the instructional day. The only electronic device students will be allowed to use their laptop for instructional purposes only.
RMS is not responsible for any lost/stolen items.
Violations of the policy will result in the confiscation of the electronic device and a fine of $15.00 assessed. Repeated violations will result in administrative disciplinary action. The electronic device will only be released to the parent or guardian between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If a student lends their electronic device to another student or the electronic device is lost and picked up from another student, the parent/guardian of the student who owns the cell phone will be responsible for paying the assessed fine.
Uniform/ Dress Code Policy
Ross Middle School follows a dress code, and the following guidelines must be adhered to by students at Ross Middle School:
Tops
- White or hunter green polo shirts are required. The Ross logo is optional. No t-shirts, tank tops or crop tops are permitted.
- Spirit shirts with the school’s logo may be worn on Fridays only; these are tee shirts supporting the school or school clubs.
- Sweatshirts, sweaters, coats, and jackets are limited to solid colors, not patterned, and must be either green, grey, white or black.
Bottoms
- Khaki/Navy blue uniform pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or capris are required. Jeans, Corduroy, low-rise pants, hip huggers, spandex or other stretch material or sagging pants are not allowed.
- Clothes must fit properly so that they are not tight, clingy or baggy, and they must be worn at the waist.
- Shorts, skorts or skirts must be knee length; students will need to change clothing that is found to be too short.
College Day
Wednesday is College Day, and a university or college sweatshirt or tee shirt may be worn by students as part of our college awareness emphasis. All other uniform requirements still apply on College Day.
Non-uniform Days
Occasionally, students may have a “free dress” day, and they are not required to dress in their school uniforms for that day. On such days, students are not permitted to wear pajamas, tank tops, low cut, backless or see-through shirts, or baggy or over-sized pants, regardless of that day’s dress guidelines. As explained above, students may not wear items that are not in compliance with district policy or display inappropriate graphics or suggestive material. If an item is
not addressed here, a school administrator will have the final decision on the item’s appropriateness.
