Harvest Supper

Thank you for attending the Harvest Supper on Thursday, October 10th. We were happy to have Patty and Angie from the Youth Shelter in Fort Dodge share about the services they provide close to home. We are also happy to have Tiffany Thumma, Lisa Buske, and Kelsey Wigans providing quality, made-from-scratch items from our school garden!

17 trees planted around the building

On October 17th, students and staff were able take some time in the afternoon to plant trees around the campus of GC-B. These trees were purchased using a grant through the Iowa DNR (Department of Natural Resources). We have a beautiful campus thanks to the work of Mr. Herzberg, Dave Cirks, and Kelsey Wigans.

Joy around the building:

Zombie Walk:

We are thankful to partner with the Community Closet at the Lutheran Church in collecting non-perishable food items. This fun event was on a perfect fall night! Thank you to the community members in Gilmore City for filling up the closet!

UNI Field Trip

Our 3rd-5th graders were able to tour the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. Career readiness starts at a young age. GC-B Elementary shows students many pathways to explore as they begin to think about what the future will hold. Maybe some of these students are future panthers!

Spooky Thursday, the 31st!

Being Proactive!

As we move into 50 days of school on November 4th, we will begin adding in our character education program, Leader in Me. The first habit is: Be Proactive! Students will be challenged and encouraged using words and phrases like: initiative, responsible, in control, choose your attitude, and more! Watch the short video below on how you can encourage this proactive behavior at home!
