DIGITAL SKILLS REPORT LAUNCHED!!
Digital Skills summary
Maggie Philbin - CEO of Teen Tech and ex-presenter of the BBC's Tomorrow's World - was commissioned in 2013 by Labour leader Ed Miliband to undertake an independent review into digital skills, for which she established the Digital Skills Task Force. Yesterday, Maggie joined Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Chuka Umunna (pictured below, left) to launch the report at Wayra UK and Wayra UnLtd at Wednesday 23rd July 2014.
"Digital Skills for Tomorrow's World" , calls for, among other things, the government to invest at least an additional £20 million by 2020, embedding the new computing curriculum in schools across England and to extend basic digital skills to all of the UK population, sharing the cost with businesses and the charitable sector.
