From Mrs Tennenbaum

The 2nd half of the school year is underway. We know the next few months the weather can change daily from where we can see sunshine and warmer weather to inches of snow. Please make sure that your students have the appropriate outerwear for outdoor recess as we will go out if it is over 25 degrees. If we do have severe weather, please watch the news for snow days or delay days. I have included the information regarding calamity days in the bulletin. Please continue to encourage your students to be great ROAR models, to work hard in school and to be kind to one another.

Winter is coming - a message from Dr Briggs!

As the weather in Ohio continues to get colder, I would like to share how the district will handle calamity days if in-person classes need to be canceled due to inclement weather. Calamity days this winter will be good old-fashioned snow days. Students will not be expected to learn virtually.

We strive to make the decision to delay or close by 5:30 a.m. or earlier so that we can notify radio and TV stations, post to the district website, and send electronic notices to emergency announcement subscribers.

Unusual weather conditions may force us to make the decision after this time. For that reason, parents and students are advised to stay tuned to major television and radio stations, as well as our website and e-communications notices, for updates.

Once a decision is made to delay or cancel, the information will be shared with parents and the media as quickly as possible. You can read more about calamity day procedures on our website at https://oh50010917.schoolwires.net/Page/98.

Please check the Infinite Campus portal to ensure that your contact information is accurate so that you will receive closing/delay notifications in a timely manner, and that you will receive the messages via your preferred method(s) of delivery (text, phone call, email, etc.).

Thank you! The first official day of winter is Dec. 21st!

Reminder from the clinic:

As we continue to fight through illness during the winter months, please remember to keep your child home from school if they are sick. Students must be fever free for 24 hours without the aid of medication and free of vomiting or diarrhea symptoms for 24 hours prior to returning to school. This is to ensure all our students and staff stay healthy during cold and flu season. See additional information from Nationwide Children's Hospital about when your child should stay home.

Snack Time

We are going to incorporate snack time into the school day for 1st through 4th graders. We need everyone to adhere to the expectations of snack time in order to be allergy free and healthy. I have attached the guidelines for snack time. Please understand that if a student does not bring an appropriate snack, it will not be able to be eaten.

Students need to come to school with their chromebooks charged each day. We do not have the continuous ability to charge chromebooks. Please help students remember to charge them overnight.
