Harrison Happenings
January 5-9
This week in Room 300...
Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends over the holidays! I cannot believe that we are back and almost finished with our second nine weeks. The last day of the second 9 weeks is January 14th. This week, we will begin finishing up the consonant letter sounds in the alphabet (V and W), and reviewing math and writing skills. Our sight words for this week are love, to, and said. It is very important that you review ALL the second 9 week words with your student because they will be expected to have them mastered by January 14th. I will start assessing them this week on some report card skills.
Report Cards
Even though the second nine weeks ends on January 14th, the report cards will not go home until a few days later so that we have time to put grades in the system. As soon as I have the date they are going home, I will pass it along to you. Keep in mind that we will not have conferences this nine weeks, so you need to pay extra attention to the report card, and let me know if you have any questions.
Please look over the second nine weeks skills on the last report card you received and continue practicing those at home with your child.
Reminders!
- Send a coat with your child every day. We try to let them play outside as much as possible, but we cannot send them without some layers on.
- Send January snack money if you have not already
- No school NEXT Friday, January 16th or the following Monday, January 19th.
