Why did the Louisiana Purchase help expansion?
When Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from France in 1803; it doubled the size of America overnight. He then had Lewis and Clark (and Sacajawea) explore the new territories to the west of the Mississippi River.
How did the War of 1821 help expansion?
The American vicotry over the British, gave American claim to the Oregon Territoy and increased migration of American settlers into the Florida. Later givien by the treaty from Spain.
The Monroe Doctrine also help! It stated if any Europeans colonized in America it would be taken as a threat.
