From the Principal
Dear Parents,
This week, I want to simply give my attention to one thing, International Night! This event was something so special and our community responded well to leading and volunteering as well as visiting each country represented. I have shared a variety of photos here for your enjoyment.
This was an idea brought to me by Trusha Patel and Rossy Finol-Bishop in the fall. We brainstormed ideas and they reached out to a few local schools who had successfully pulled off this event in years past. The planning and preparations took off from there.
The energy in our school around this event has been awe inspiring. Our kids and community put so much of their knowledge and personal cultural into each display. The student performances were the highlight of the evening. Oh, and the food, did you get a taste? Yum!
Each day, we are reminded of hate that continues to consume our world when we turn on our TV, read the newspapers and scroll through social media. Friday night gave me hope. Our kids are inspiring little creatures who we hope, if nothing else, grow up and demonstrate inclusiveness and kindness to all people they encounter.
Personally, I’d like to thank all of the volunteers listed below. We hope this event grows bigger next year. I know it will. Hats off to everyone who had a hand in this work!
I want to close by sharing this piece of writing I recently saw in Mrs. Stevens class. Our kids truly get it!

Georgia Parent Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions and is part of our CCRPI Star Climate Rating. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of our School Climate Star Rating and we currently have 5 stars here at CCES. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.
